The Accounting / Finance Manager supports a complex manufacturing environment with a strong focus on accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, and strategic decision support. Operating as an individual contributor within the corporate finance function, this role oversees key aspects of cash flow, investment monitoring, manufacturing financial operations, and performance analysis. The position partners closely with senior leadership and operational teams to provide clear financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting, ensure audit and compliance readiness, and contribute to value-creation initiatives across the enterprise and its investment portfolio.
Responsibilities
Oversee cash flow positions, borrowing needs, and available funds for investment, ensuring liquidity and prudent financial management.
Monitor and evaluate the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning in collaboration with business and corporate leadership.
Partner with management teams to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational initiatives, ensuring alignment with value-creation plans.
Develop standardized reporting packages, dashboards, and analyses for internal stakeholders and investors.
Conduct benchmarking, scenario modeling, and valuation analysis to assess business performance and the strategic outlook for current and potential acquisitions.
Review monthly investment data on tribal investment funds and prepare comprehensive quarterly performance reports.
Prepare internal, external, and committee meeting materials that clearly communicate financial results, risks, and recommendations.
Monitor treasury and bank accounts and oversee the tracking of trades and settlements for stocks, bonds, real estate, and mutual fund transactions managed by third parties.
Evaluate enterprise contracts for financial terms, conditions, and implications, providing recommendations to support negotiations and risk management.
Support and oversee manufacturing financial operations, including cost structures, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
Apply cost accounting principles, including standard costs, variance analysis, and work-in-process accounting, to support accurate reporting and business insight.
Partner with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve financial visibility and inform operational decision-making.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning specific to manufacturing and corporate operations.
Prepare executive-ready reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Support compliance, audits, and documentation in regulated environments, including considerations related to DFAR/FAR where applicable.
Analyze trends, risks, and performance drivers within manufacturing operations and recommend actions to optimize cost, margin, and efficiency.
Contribute to strategic initiatives such as new acquisitions, working capital optimization, process improvement, cost optimization, scalability, and exit readiness.
Serve as a key point of contact for audit activities, tax filings, and compliance documentation, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Provide detailed analysis related to real estate finance, including asset performance, reporting, and investment evaluation.
Act as a trusted finance partner to leadership on ad hoc analysis, special projects, and strategic decision support.
Work on special projects as assigned, bringing strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Approximately seven or more years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Solid foundation in cost accounting, including standard costs, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in manufacturing environments.
Extensive experience in financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.
Experience supporting audits, tax filings, and compliance activities, including regulated environments.
Familiarity with manufacturing, property accounting, or real estate industries, with manufacturing experience required.
Strong financial modeling, valuation, and data visualization skills to support forecasting and strategic analysis.
Skilled in ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Cognos, Anaplan, or Power BI.
Advanced proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office applications, email, Internet, and advanced Excel skills.
Ability to integrate manufacturing cost accounting into broader financial reporting and planning processes.
Working knowledge of complex manufacturing environments, including defense parts and regulatory considerations (DFAR/FAR exposure preferred).
Ability to communicate financial insights clearly and effectively to non-finance stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to set priorities and define actions, time, and resources needed to achieve goals.
Proven capability in data gathering and analytics, including collecting, consolidating, and using relevant information to diagnose issues and develop practical solutions.
Demonstrated financial awareness, actively seeking opportunities to optimize financial costs and investments when making decisions.
Polished, professional presence suitable for a corporate headquarters role, with comfort operating independently under high visibility.
Detail-oriented mindset while maintaining a strong grasp of the broader strategic and financial picture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred; Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
Experience in defense or government-contract manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
Prior corporate or headquarters finance experience supporting multiple stakeholders is beneficial.
Exposure to operational finance or plant-level collaboration, partnering closely with operations and supply chain teams.
Experience with real estate finance, including performance analysis and reporting, is an advantage.
Ability to think beyond transactional accounting and connect financial results to strategy and operational drivers.
Strong oral communication skills to shape and express ideas clearly in discussions and presentations.
Strong written communication skills to produce well-structured, grammatically correct reports and documents using clear, accessible language.
Comfort working as an individual contributor without direct people leadership responsibilities.
Must be able to apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency, as required for the role.

This is a permanent, primarily remote position based in California or nearby states, offering the flexibility to work from home while remaining closely connected to corporate and executive leadership. The role sits within a corporate headquarters finance function that supports a complex, regulated manufacturing environment and an active investment portfolio. You will work extensively with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle, advanced Excel, and business intelligence tools like Cognos, Anaplan, or Power BI, as well as standard office productivity software. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
