Summary This full-performance Locksmith position at the Raymond G Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, reports to the Police Service Chief within VISN 22. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Performs maintenance, installation, and repair of locks, latches, door closures, alarms, and hardware. Executes master keying, re-keying, and changing various mechanical locks, including core and deadbolts. Maintains master key records and develops lock systems. Services and changes combinations on safes and vaults. Maintains security locks for narcotics and medication storage. Installs and maintains door and window locks. Inspects, repairs, and installs all lock @types across the facility, prioritizing emergency repairs. Removes foreign objects from locks. Bypasses locks when keys are lost or locks fail, without damage. Determines application and installs electronic locks and keying devices. Programs electronic locks and troubleshoots using specialized equipment. Selects, installs, and maintains door closers based on door specifications. Repairs or replaces various door closure mechanisms. Performs additional related duties as needed. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
