Access Control & Security Systems Technician

We are hiring an experienced Access Control Technician to support enterprise-level physical security deployments across data center, critical infrastructure, and commercial environments. This role focuses on the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of advanced Access Control Systems (ACS) and Video Management Systems (VMS).

Role Overview
The Access Control Technician will work in active production environments installing and servicing access control and video systems that protect high-value facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring systems are installed correctly, programmed accurately, tested thoroughly, and documented clearly.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, understands both the hardware and software sides of security systems, and takes pride in clean, compliant installations.
? Key Responsibilities
Access Control Systems
Install, configure, and support access control systems across single-site and multi-site environments
Install and terminate field devices including card readers, door contacts, REX devices, electrified locks, maglocks, strikes, and power supplies
Mount and wire control panels, intelligent controllers, and enclosures
Configure door logic, access levels, schedules, alarm points, and I/O
Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Video Surveillance Systems
Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP-based camera systems
Mount, aim, and adjust cameras to meet coverage and design standards
Configure VMS servers, clients, recording parameters, and analytics
Verify camera functionality, retention settings, and ACS/VMS integration
System Integration & Support
Support integrated access control and video platforms
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site leadership
Maintain professional communication in secure, customer-facing environments
Documentation & Quality
Update as-built drawings, device schedules, and system documentation
Ensure all work complies with manufacturer requirements and industry best practices
Represent the company with professionalism on high-visibility job sites
? Required Experience & Skills
2+ years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting access control systems
Working knowledge of enterprise or commercial ACS platforms (LenelS2, Genetec, AMAG, C-CURE, Brivo, Openpath, Feenics, Kantech, or similar)
Experience supporting IP-based video systems and common VMS platforms (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, ExacqVision, or comparable)
Strong understanding of electrified door hardware, field devices, and panel wiring
Familiar with low-voltage cabling and basic networking concepts
Ability to test, commission, document, and troubleshoot integrated security systems
Professional communication skills and comfort working in secure, customer-facing environments

Data center or mission-critical facility experience
Exposure to enterprise-scale or multi-site security systems
Fiber optic familiarity
Experience with mobile credentials or cloud-managed ACS platforms
Work Environment & Schedule
Work performed inside secure facilities and data center environments
Monday-Friday schedule with extended shifts based on project demands
Occasional overtime depending on installation and commissioning milestones
PPE required on site (candidate must provide safety boots)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
