Entry Level Designer

Overview:

We are currently hiring Entry Level Drafters/Designers for long term, multi year contracts in Newport News, VA.

Description:

This position will support design initiatives for Virginia Class model file conversions.

The candidate will convert 3D models into the Siemens NX application including setting up construction views. All trade disciplines will be involved in this effort.

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.

Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as AutoCAD, NX, and Inventor.

Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.

Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.

Qualifications:

US Citizenship.

Associate's Degree and 0 years of experience. (2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree.)

Siemens NX and/or Inventor modeling experience preferred.

Experience in manufacturing/installation drawing creation.

Trade experience using 3D work instructions in areas such as: Structure, Electrical, Piping, Mechanical, Ventilation, Sheetmetal.

Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Additional Information:

5 openings available.

Pay Rate: $22-$30/hr based on experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
