Join our team as an Athletics Marketing Specialist and help elevate the excitement, visibility, and fan engagement surrounding Cyclone Athletics.
The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Marketing Specialist I. This entry-level role plays a key part in developing and executing marketing strategies and promotions designed to increase attendance, enhance fan engagement, and drive revenue for assigned intercollegiate sports.
What you'll do
Develop, direct, coordinate, and execute strategic marketing plans for designated sports.
Oversee the Iowa State Athletics Department social media main accounts on Facebook, X, and Instagram
Create and implement initiatives that enhance the game-day atmosphere and deliver memorable in-game promotional experiences for fans.
Assist with email marketing initiatives to help drive ticket sales and engagement
Collaborate with sport programs and internal partners to plan and execute successful events.
Oversee other digital marketing efforts with paid advertising, push notifications, and text alerts.
Ensure compliance with departmental, university, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Ideal candidates will bring solid marketing and promotional skills; an understanding of customer service and fan-experience best practices; proficiency with emerging technologies and social media; and the ability to plan effectively, multitask, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse clientele. Evening and weekend availability is required to work assigned sports.
