Role Definition
Provides technical expertise and guidance in manufacturing process development projects for the continuous improvement of the safety, quality, velocity and cost of manufacturing
Key Responsibilities
Providing technical expertise and guidance in major manufacturing projects, working with internal/external suppliers to support/improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness.
Evaluating enterprise systems and the coordination of those systems with the total plant.
Directing suppliers to analyze their current or proposed product/process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve process and/or product.
Providing guidance and mentoring to manufacturing engineers and operators in order to develop high quality products and processes.

Analyzes the feasibility of applying best practices within a manufacturing facility.
Describes common problems and implementation issues with applying best practices.

Manufacturing Process Design and Development: Knowledge of how to develop or design a manufacturing process; ability to establish and determine which processes and parameters should be opted to improve functionality and costs.

Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

Guides others on the application of manufacturing industry and organizational best engineering practices and explains their rationale.
Facilitates the integration of engineering systems and applications for a manufacturing organization.
Advises others on the key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for engineering standards, policies and practices.
Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and improves engineering operations performance.
Works with various complex engineering operations in a manufacturing environment.
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Level Extensive Experience:
Manages the adoption of lean manufacturing principles across the organization.
Teaches others about how lean approach integrates operations, customers, logistics and product development.
Consults on work cell design and plan layout in support of lean principles.
Consults on the use of lean approaches across multiple functions.
Trains others on key lean measurements and tools and techniques for measuring performance.
Participates in detailed planning for implementing and monitoring lean manufacturing.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Level Extensive Experience:
Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.
Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.
Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
Minimum Requirements
3 -5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field with a proven track record in managing complex projects.
Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in mentoring and developing relationships with management and hourly employees.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
In-depth knowledge of standard work and designing process standards in area assigned and developing and deploying best practices.
Strong experience dealing with capital projects and the ability to maintain and complete multiple projects of varying levels.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships at all organizational levels.
Bachelor's degree in, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lean Six Sigma experience and understanding.
Summary Pay Range:
$120,660.00 - $180,900.00
