Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Damage Control, Fire Fighting, Chemical Biological Defense and Ship Waste Management Division, SEA 05P5 of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT. Responsibilities You will assist Technical Warrant Holders (TWHs) to identify, and secure commitment of program funds needed to provide laboratory and contractor technical support and headquarters oversight. You will assist TWHs in planning and overseeing the development and application of DC, FF, CBD and E systems requirements, characterizations, predictions and performance assessments for in-service ships and submarines, You will plan and oversee the execution of performance, risk, and affordability trade-offs for all high priority and high visibility DC, FF, CBD and E system related design and R and D issues. You will plan, coordinate, and work to obtain all program funds needed to provide field activity and field contractor technical support and headquarters oversight. You will serve as the U.S. Navy's senior technical representative to SES and FLAG officers as defined by NAVSEA policy. You will ensure development and maintenance of Navy technical policy concerning surface ship design requirements, specifications, system designs and analysis, design criteria, etc. engineering efforts. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
