Summary You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization and Sustainment Directorate (SEA 21) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT. Responsibilities You will engage in out-year Surface Ship CNO availability strategic planning to ensure adequate resources are maintained and requested and ensure program fielding and success. You will participate in processes and initiatives to shape and formulate future maintenance and modernization strategies, including Surface Master Plan, Surface Fleet Availability Scheduling Team, and Surface TYCOM Advisory Requirement Board. You will develop and provide workforce with near and long-term goals, objectives, and specific program and task responsibilities in order to execute programs. You will serve as an authoritative expert and consultant on the overall program providing expert engineering technical advice in interactions with manufacturing representatives and contractors. You will defend decisions made that impact major programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing technical guidance in the evaluation of ship maintenance and modernization requirements, risk mitigation processes and strategies, or availability duration analysis to support ship sustainment program. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Additional Information The NH-04 broadband is equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15 grade levels. This position has a control point; thus, the salary range for this position is capped at GS-15, step 05 which is currently equivalent to $191,850.
