Position Overview:
In this role, you will lead the development and validation of marine vehicle systems, components, and full vehicle designs as part of the Marine Innovation team. You will work closely with powertrain, chassis, and validation teams to advance new technologies and resolve complex technical issues. You will serve as a key technical liaison between testing and design teams, ensuring that development activities are rigorous, data-driven, and aligned with engineering standards. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from concept evaluation through field issue resolution. This role offers the opportunity to influence system-level performance and shape the development of next-generation marine products.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead problem solving, root cause analysis, and issue resolution across vehicle systems and components in mechanical and electrical domains
Coordinate and support validation and test activities, including development and refinement of DVP&R and test plans
Define test criteria, system requirements, objectives, and schedules for hardware development projects across multiple sites
Analyze and interpret test data using statistical and analytical methods, correlating analysis-led design to test results
Develop and specify test procedures, methods, and equipment to support system and performance development testing
Partner closely with design engineers to recommend and influence new or improved component and system designs
Participate in DFMEAs, design reviews, hardware teardowns, and root cause failure analyses
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and external partners to support development objectives
Prepare sketches, layouts, presentations, and technical summaries to support engineering decision-making
Quantify system performance through data acquisition and analysis, including operation of vehicles for development evaluation
Analyze field issues, propose corrective actions, and implement countermeasures
Lead and participate in system and subsystem peer teams
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in powersports product design or development engineering, or related engineering roles
Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, fishbone, fault tree analysis, 5 Whys)
Hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems
Experience with test, validation, data acquisition, signal processing, or fatigue analysis preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools; CREO preferred
Experience with calibration tools or troubleshooting electronics and controls preferred
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Ability to work with and travel to domestic and international technology partners
Travel up to 10-20% as needed
