Position Overview:
As our Machine Shop Coordinator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for fabrication projects. You will analyze technical documents such as drawings, models, and specifications while collaborating with internal teams to develop quotes that align with our capabilities and meet customer needs. You will also be required to perform part programming for developing and checking tool paths. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and strong communication skills, as you will work closely with various project professionals and play a key role in shaping the quoting process from start to finish.

Your Day to Day as a Machine Shop Coordinator:
Analyze customer-provided drawings, CAD files, and specifications to develop accurate estimates for time, labor, materials, and costs.
Collaborate with engineering, machinists, and purchasing teams to identify the most efficient processes and materials.
Assess project feasibility and ensure alignment with shop capabilities.
Communicate directly with project teams to clarify requirements and address technical inquiries.
Gather and provide data from all completed jobs to the project/customer, offering metrics for future job planning and optimizing the utilization of both personnel and machinery.
Assist in refining and improving internal estimating tools and processes.
Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while adhering to internal deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or similar discipline).
A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience is required.
Must have strong knowledge and experience with machining (conventional and CNC/CAM), fitting/welding, and assembly processes involving materials such as stainless steel, Al-bronze, nickel alloys, zirconium, etc.
Must be proficient in metrology, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T), and blueprint reading.
Must have hands-on experience with SolidWorks 3D modeling software as well as programming tool paths using MasterCam.
Must have demonstrated ability in project planning and execution, including developing and improving processes and procedures.
Must have general knowledge of project engineering activities, such as task planning and scheduling.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and accurate information.
Must be a strong team player with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while working independently when required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance.

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
