Duties
You will conduct on-site audits and surveillance (on ship and within production shops and at off-site vendors) of installation, fabrication and testing activities.
You will consult with SUPSHIP project office personnel and Contractor construction supervisors on quality related matters.
You will conduct studies, evaluations and analyses of information to determine possible cause and resolutions of quality problems.
You will analyze quality data obtained from audits, surveillance, procedure evaluations, quality meetings and communications from outside sources for assigned functional area(s) to determine a quality profile.
You will prepare detailed reports summarizing factual data, discussing methods used, problems analyzed and state conclusions and recommendations.
You will recommend to the Team Leader and/or Division Head the @type of QA audit or surveillance needed within assigned functional area(s) to support key QA program elements.
You will conduct evaluations of the Contractor's quality procedures and installed/fabricated hardware.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing quality assurance for complex electrical product manufacturing, auditing, and skilled problem-solving for quality issues of naval combatant ship design and construction standards.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position;
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position;
OR
An LL.M., if related to the position being filled;
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
