Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Quality Assurance Department, Code 300 of SUPSHIP. Responsibilities You will conduct on-site audits and surveillance (on ship and within production shops and at off-site vendors) of installation, fabrication and testing activities. You will consult with SUPSHIP project office personnel and Contractor construction supervisors on quality related matters. You will conduct studies, evaluations and analyses of information to determine possible cause and resolutions of quality problems. You will analyze quality data obtained from audits, surveillance, procedure evaluations, quality meetings and communications from outside sources for assigned functional area(s) to determine a quality profile. You will prepare detailed reports summarizing factual data, discussing methods used, problems analyzed and state conclusions and recommendations. You will recommend to the Team Leader and/or Division Head the @type of QA audit or surveillance needed within assigned functional area(s) to support key QA program elements. You will conduct evaluations of the Contractor's quality procedures and installed/fabricated hardware. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing quality assurance for complex electrical product manufacturing, auditing, and skilled problem-solving for quality issues of naval combatant ship design and construction standards.
