DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose: Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department. Maintains quality clinical care for residents/patients in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Facility.

:

+-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+	Unit Supervision:		+-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+	Supervise weekend professional			and non-professional staff in the			day-to-day delivery of Resident			Care. Schedule job assignments			and develop Nursing Unit			priorities. May orientate new			staff, and participate in			recruitment and selection of			nursing staff, communicate			policies, assist and coach as			needed. Monitor work assignments,			provide feedback, evaluate			performance and redirect and			discipline as needed.		+-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+	Nursing Care Function:		+-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+	Plan and deliver care to patients			requiring long-term or			rehabilitative care. These duties			will be performed in compliance			with federal, state and local			regulations.


Manage facility unit through
experienced leadership and
communication with the Director
of Nursing overseeing staff and
patient care



Prepare and review medical
records and nurses notes, and
assess residents to observe and
evaluate their physical and
emotional status. Monitor
resident activity, evaluate
nursing care in accordance with
professional standards, and
provide nursing care according to
physicians orders, care plans,
established standards and
facility policies. Coordinate and
assist or prepare for new
admissions,

transfers, and discharge of
residents. Transcribe physicians
telephone orders. Communicate
with Residents family members,
other interdisciplinary team
members and management regarding

resident status.

standards and facility policies.
Sign, date and perform all
charting and record keeping in
accordance with established
policies and procedures.

Ensure understanding of and
compliance with all rules
regarding Residents rights.
