Summary James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital is looking for Senior Social Worker - Homeless Section who will report to Social Work Services within Homeless Veterans Program. This position is located at Tampa VA Medical Center. Responsibilities The incumbent works as a Senior Social Worker for the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital and Clinics (JAHVH) in Tampa, Florida. The JAHVH is a Level I tertiary medical center with general medicine, surgical, psychiatric, rehabilitation, spinal cord injury/disorders center, nursing home care beds, and a polytrauma treatment facility. In addition to the Primary Care Annex, it also encompasses seven community-based outpatient clinics located in New Port Richey, South Hillsborough, Brooksville, Lakeland, Lecanto, Sable Park, and Zephyrhills. The hospital has social work academic affiliations with three universities; Florida State University, University of South Florida, and St. Leo University. The Veterans Justice Outreach Program Senior Social Worker with the James A. Haley VA Hospital must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Additionally, the advanced practice social worker can be further differentiated from the independent practice social worker by incumbent ability to expand clinical knowledge in the profession, provide consultation and guidance to colleagues, role model effective social work practice skills, teach or provide orientation to less experienced social workers, develop innovations in practice interventions, and provide clinical supervision for social work licensure or certification. Social Workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an ASWB advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advance practice level. Senior social workers may have certification or other post masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty. Senior Social Workers should have the ability to provide Clinical Supervision to Social Work staff for state licensure. The Veterans Justice Outreach Program Senior Social Worker will adhere to the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics, all local social work policies and/or SOPs and maintain an unrestricted, unsuspended license to practice social work.
