The Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for providing support and solving problems in the manufacturing process, from assembly to final packaging. This role emphasizes driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. Additionally, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be accountable for leading design transfer efforts to meet business objectives. You will work cross-functionally to drive business results, DBS culture, and executing on strategic plans to achieve long-term objectives.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager and is part of the Hardware Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Chaska, MN and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Engineering Project Leadership: Lead and execute engineering projects, design changes, and process implementations from concept through implementation. Own project timelines, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful delivery against business objectives.
Production Support & Technical Problem Solving: Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing operations by leading structured problem-solving efforts including root cause analysis and CAPA. Drive timely containment and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence: Identify and lead initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies. Facilitate and lead continuous improvement events (Kaizen, VAVE, etc.).
Cross-functional collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive alignment on priorities, resolve technical challenges, and improve key operational KPIs.
Product Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS, GMP, regulatory, and quality system requirements. Support audits, investigations, and validation activities to maintain product and process integrity.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in field with 5+ years' experience OR Master's degree in field with 3+ years' experience OR Doctoral degree in field
Technical Problem-solving: Proven ability to apply engineering fundamentals and structured problem-solving tools to resolve complex manufacturing issues in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience identifying, leading, and sustaining process improvements in a manufacturing setting.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical concepts, influence stakeholders, and drive decisions across functions.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Limited travel is expected in this role.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen
Demonstrated experience in process capability analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence
Knowledge of relevant quality systems (e.g., ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949)

The annual salary range is $115,000-125,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
