The NANA North Marketing & Communications team plays a vital role in building brand awareness and reputation across our family of companies. We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our team and deliver marketing and operational support across the organization. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities, contribute tostrategicinitiatives, and execute communications and marketing efforts with precision. The Specialist will play a key role in supporting brand consistency, coordinating projects, and enhancing the visibility of NANA North and its family of companies through thoughtful, well-executed communications. An interest in or experience in social media and content creation is a plus.
Responsibilities
Email & Internal Communications Management:
Maintain internal email accounts, manage distribution lists, and support internal messaging initiatives to ensure effective communication across the organization for multiple brands
Content Creation & Management:
Develop and edit marketing materials, including but not limited to newsletters, press releases, and promotional content, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging.
Provide messaging and content updates for intranet pages, keeping internal policies and communications accessible and current.
Business Collateral & Award Fulfillment:
Process marketing material requests and oversee internal award programs, such as Spot Awards and Service Awards, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
Swag & Merchandise Inventory Management:
Coordinate distribution of materials.
Maintain, order, and track inventory for promotional materials, branded merchandise, and swag orders, ensuring appropriate stock levels for our family of brands.
Marketing Campaign & Event Support:
Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns.
Coordinate event sponsorship logistics, including managing invitations, tracking RSVPs, and ensuring sponsorship benefits are delivered.
Support internal and external events by assembling communication and training kits as needed.
Social Media Engagement:
Monitor and manage the organization's social media content and presence, engaging with followers, tracking trends, and suggesting content ideas to enhance brand awareness.
Manage monthly calendars for multiple owned businesses, own and manage paid social media campaigns with oversight, manage monthly reporting of social metrics.
Have an understanding of social media strategy and approach across platforms.
Digital Asset Management:
Upload, organize, and tag photos in the company's digital asset library.
Ensure proper management of photo release documentation and digital asset accessibility.
Marketing Team Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative and project-based support to the marketing and communications team, including vendor coordination, supplier registrations, and compliance updates.
Track and report on marketing and event budgets as needed.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align marketing and communication strategies with organizational goals.
Identify and implement improvements to communication workflows and processes.
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the success and efficiency of the department.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience ).
2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or administrative support (internships included).
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Comfortable using social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Preferred:
Experience with content management systems (SharePoint, WordPress, or similar).
Experience with email management platforms
Familiarity with digital asset management tools.
Basic knowledge of design tools like Canva or Adobe Acrobat.
Experience in content production, i.e., photo, video, design, etc.
Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or communications.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.
Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: Up to 10% of the time. Employee may travel throughout Alaska and/or to remote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes, and ATVs. Travel to and from the worksite will be provided and arranged by NANA.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of software programs used in emails, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
The position requires reading, detailed work, problem solving, interactions with other companies including other NANA companies, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, will require the employee in the position to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and handle constant interruptions.
