Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company safety and environmental policies and procedures. You will take proactive measures to prevent hazards and noncompliance, review equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions. You will also design systems and equipment to address problems or enhance asset value. Your role will involve project execution for capital projects, including equipment specification formulation, project cost control, construction oversight, and startup management. You will work with the plant's power distribution system, including 3-phase 2300 and 480 voltage AC, and 250 voltage DC.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company safety policies.

Review equipment performance issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.

Design systems and equipment to address problems or enhance value.

Execute capital projects, including equipment specification, cost control, and construction oversight.

Work with the plant's power distribution system, including 3-phase 2300 and 480 voltage AC, and 250 voltage DC.

Assist in building a new maintenance system, categorizing parts, creating part numbers, and establishing asset hierarchies.

Essential Skills

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent field.

3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to read and understand technical information, prints, and engineering data.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems.

Availability to work off-hours and days as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Understanding of coke plant operations and engineering inter-relationships.

Experience in a coke manufacturing setting is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in a 24/7, 365-day coke plant, requiring off-hours availability and significant fieldwork in a dusty, hot, wet, and potentially dangerous environment. The candidate must be comfortable working in both office and industrial settings, including wearing required PPE and performing tasks involving heights, stairs, uneven surfaces, and extended periods of computer work. The engineering team includes 2 Mechanical Engineers, 2 Chemical Engineers, and an Environmental Manager.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monessen, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
