Responsibilities Monitor and evaluate material usage and customer demand patterns to recommend retail stock levels of Mission Support Material (MSM), Direct Material Inventory (DMI), Future Use Material (FUM) and Depot Level Repairable (DLR). Work with customer to manage minimum and maximum levels of material to account for frequent deviations from normal patterns. Submit Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP) and non-MILSTRIP requisitions and DLRs retrograde tracking and extension requests to Item Managers to satisfy requirements for managed items. Review unfilled order status on a daily basis and take appropriate action to escalate fulfillment actions not meeting customer requirements. Coordinate with appropriate designated supply chain personnel contacts to initiate appropriate actions for overdue replenishment. Monitor shelf life items in stock, ensuring materials are replenished if shelf life expires. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyze supply-related operating procedures to ensure practices are in accordance with regulations, directives and policies. Investigate and resolve problems in supply processes, work methods, supply data management and operations procedures. Initiate corrective actions to eliminate systemic supply-related deficiencies.
