Job Title: Electrical Helper Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Helper Technician to join our team for multiple commercial projects scheduled for the year. The primary role involves installing and repairing commercial electrical systems following electrical code manuals. Responsibilities include reading technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and utilizing hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment. High integrity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

Install and repair commercial electrical systems.

Follow electrical code manuals and guidelines.

Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Use hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment effectively.

Provide reliable transportation and maintain punctuality.

Work overtime when required and demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Essential Skills

1+ years of Electrical Experience or 1.5+ years of Construction Experience.

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment.

Ability to follow electrical code manuals.

Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Basic math and problem-solving skills.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

3rd or 4th year electrical apprentice.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High standard of integrity and professionalism.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Must have either HS Diploma or GED.

Ability to handle criticism appropriately.

Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs consistently.

Comfortable climbing ladders and using lifts up to 30 feet.

Must have basic hand tools and pouch.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position located in Ankeny, Iowa, within the DSM Metro. Work hours are Monday to Friday, starting at 6:30 am until the job is done, typically lasting 8-9 hours. Punctuality is highly valued. The dress code includes jeans without holes, professional t-shirts, and work boots. PPE is provided. All projects are local to the DSM metro area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
