Job Title: Entry level Low Voltage Electrical Helper

*Job Description: We are seeking construction cable technicians to join our team at data centers located around the Des Moines area. As a Cable Technician, you will work with blueprints and use hand and power tools to assemble and mount trays, server racks, and pull fiber optic cables. This position offers a great opportunity to expand in the data center industry.

*Responsibilities

Assemble and mount trays and server racks using blueprints.

Pull fiber optic cable from point A to point B.

Scan inventory and unpack boxes of materials.

Break down shipping materials and build server racks.

Install servers and switches, and run cable.

*Essential Skills

Experience on construction sites or data centers.

Mechanical aptitude with 6 months to 1 year of experience as a cable technician.

Ability to follow blueprints and work in a team environment.

Problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.

*Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in structured cabling or construction from any trade.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project documents.

Capability to see and distinguish different colors and hear audible signals.

*Work Environment: This is a fully on-site position performed on an active construction site. The job requires adherence to safety protocols and the wearing of PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves. The schedule consists of five 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 7am to 5:30pm, with occasional Saturdays if needed. The environment is an assembly line atmosphere for the build-out of server racks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altoona, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
