Summary You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSPT) in the Information Technology Directorate (Code 15) of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job opportunity announcement has a first cut-off 50 applicants. Once the first 50 applicants received the announcement will automatically close. Responsibilities You will demonstrated experience with installation, configuration, maintenance and management of computer systems, to include local area networks. You will proficient with information systems security, to include implementation of standard operating procedures, software and controls You will determining information requirements, technical and functional specifications and evaluation processes necessary for procurement and development. You will adept at development of network management and system administration guidelines, policies, and procedures, and comprehensive operating instructions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: IT service provisioning, communications, network management , systems administration, computer hardware and software troubleshooting, periodic testing of recovery procedures, providing technical guidance to users, developing and maintaining technical policies and procedures Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-admin.asp.
