Eaton's North American Sales division is currently seeking a Distributor Sales Representative to join the team. This role may be based out of our office in either Lewiston, ME or Franklin, MA, and will cover the northern New England territory, including Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Relocation assistance is available for candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of either office. This exciting opportunity provides responsibility for growing distributor stock sales and residential contractor sales in a dynamic New England territory. It also provides ownership of evaluating and optimizing inventory levels while training distributors on internal tools.
What you'll do:
The primary function of Senior Distributor Sales Specialist is to manage and demonstrate strong knowledge of the assigned channel partners within the territory to increase sales in the local marketplace and provide sales and technical assistance. This position will be responsible for directly interfacing with distributors within their territory by providing a variety of sales support and administrative services in inventory management.
You will be responsible for managing growth in distributor stock sales and residential contractor sales for the Northern New England (VT, NH, ME) territory that is very dynamic in terms of distributor complexity, volume of locations, and territory size
You will partner with regional channel director, sales engineers and sales manager/director on a territory channel strategy and plan each year; and effectively execute this plan against set targets
You will continuously support customer issue resolution
You will make recommendations to management and channel director to increase effectiveness of initiatives and programs
You will track and measure distributor and residential contractor growth using sales reporting tools and review stock levels with each channel partner on an on-going basis.
You will strategically evaluate and optimize inventory at assigned distributors to ensure adequate levels of standard control and DE products to maximize sales. You will make recommendations on product changes, layout changes, and stock levels to optimize Eaton's position.
You will independently develop and implement action plans targeted at YOY growth and agreed performance levels.
You will make recommendations to management and channel director regarding potential challenges or issues on a case-by-case basis, offering solutions and pro-actively scheduling joint sales calls.
You will train distributors on how to use internal programs such as Vista, Bid Manager, and the Commitments program
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum 3 years of experience working in the electrical industry

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong electrical industry and product knowledge
Distribution knowledge and/or experience
Strong product line knowledge
Minimum 3 years in a commercial assignment, and 1 year in a DSR function or minimum 3 years in an outside sales role with distributor responsibility
Strong key channel relationships and knowledge of major accounts within the sales territory
Understand sales process and channel relationships with limited internal oversight
The Driver Safety policy requires employees who drive on company business to maintain a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record
Skills:
Ability to learn/teach electronic/computer processes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to resolve conflict effectively
Ability to make regular visits to distributor locations within the territory
Ability to establish and build customer relationships within the market area
Eaton electrical product, service, and market knowledge
Possess presentation, training and planning skills
Demonstrate an understanding of markets/industry issues and key trends
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $107,500 - $181,000.
Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
