Develop and maintain transportation-related GIS datasets, mapping products, and spatial applications.

Conduct spatial and statistical analyses to support transportation planning, safety, and project development.

Provide technical support and GIS training to internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in performing quality assurance and supporting the development of GIS data standards statewide.

Manage records and documentation to support transportation functional units and mapping activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a valid Class D Driver's License or equivalent license from another state is not required for this position. However, incumbent must be able to provide their own transportation for travel or possess a valid Class D Driver's License to drive for state business.

To qualify for the Research Analyst Intermediate-GIS option, applicants must meet the following:

Two (2) years of professional GIS experience (e.g., Research Analyst (5L) or higher) that demonstrates all qualifications below:

Education:A bachelor's or master's degree in Geography, GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Planning or Computer Science may substitute for one (1) year of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ESRI ARCPRO or Open Source QGIS, ARCGIS Online for spatial data analysis and presentation viewer for District functional unit.

Knowledge of data governance principles and strategies.

Qualitative and quantitative analysis sufficient to evaluate reports, diagnose problems and research alternative methods.

Experience writing reports, procedures, rules and correspondence sufficient to explain and clarify substantive changes.

Experience with Microsoft Suite to prepare business documents (business process modeling, and SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat.

Facilitation skills sufficient to locate and investigate data, and critique critical business process information, negotiate, and effectively persuade customers by understanding complex and oftentimes, competing priorities and processes.

Knowledge of statistical methods to select and apply them to gather data and interpret results.
