The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the management of the SAP environment. The SAP Basis Administrator responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis, as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system. The SAP Basis Administrator collaborates to resolve SAP transport and source code problems. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems. Additional areas include the evaluation and design of interfaces between SAP and external systems, maintenance of the SAP Data Dictionary and database objects, and managing the migration of SAP database and application configuration into production, as well as analyzing, developing, and maintaining data architectures and process models within SAP.
Major Job Activities:
Providing SAP Application, Database, Operating System, and infrastructure support, including but not limited to Performance Tuning, Transport Management via GRC, ChaRM, TMS, and CTS+, and SAP Application installations and upgrades (Support and Enhancement Packages)
Supporting the integration of emerging SAP technologies (e.g., HANA, FIORI / UI5, etc.) into Enterprise environments
Supporting the Functional Business Process, Application Development, Portal, Business Intelligence, Process Integration / Process Orchestration (PI/PO), and Security Technical Teams to provide O&M and Release Management support for ECC, CRM, SRM, Portal, Solution Manager, and other landscape components
Integration and management of hardware and virtualized servers providing high availability solutions, backup solutions, and storage area network (SAN) solutions and tools
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize system performance, conduct regular system health checks, and implement tuning measures as needed
User Administration: Manage user accounts, roles, and authorizations in accordance with organizational policies
System Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, enhancement packs, and patch implementations
Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for SAP systems, ensuring data integrity and availability
Deliver technical application administration services for SAP applications in various environments, verifying applications meet technical service levels, and taking appropriate corrective and maintenance actions
Design, build, test, implementation, and environment support for dev, test, and prod environments
Develop migration strategies and project plans tailored to specific SAP environments
Maintain Comprehensive documentation of SAP system configurations, landscape, procedures, and best practices
Perform system validations and post-migration testing
Implement security measures to protect SAP systems and data
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Conduct security assessments and audits
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SAP administrators, developers, functional analysts, and configuration analysts
Support all activities related to release management pertaining to Basis activities, which include moving transports to the quality and production system, and documenting the changes in Service Now
Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness
Regularly review and update documentation to reflect changes in technology, processes, and procedures
Work closely with project teams to document new systems, implementations, and upgrades throughout the project lifecycle
Share knowledge and expertise through training and documentation

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration and infrastructure management.
Experience with the SAP ECC, HANA & Oracle DB
Experience with IFS is a plus
Demonstrated SAP HANA and SAP RISE experience required
Experience working in a large-scale IT organization with SAP project implementations of high complexity, at a large scale, and with a global user base
Completion of a 2+ previous SAP S/4 project upgrades
Hands-on, in-depth SAP BASIS knowledge
Demonstrated SAP & SAP HANA on NS2 cloud experience required
Understanding of the nature of OLTP and OLAP systems, including specific roles of SAP S/4, BW, PO, Solution Management, SLT, BTP, CPI, GTS, Gateway, and Enterprise Portal
Understanding the SAP application architecture, SAP NetWeaver technology (ABAP and Java alike), instance, work-process nature and roles, ICM, IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, Logon Load Balancing, SAP router configuration and setup
Deployment approach and strategies for SAP GUI, EPM add-on, Analysis for Office (AOE), SAP HANA Studio; Experience with Fiori and other advanced SAP stacks
Solid understanding of best SAP practices, archiving, system copies, single-sign-on, encryption, SAP SNC
Experience integrating and operating 3rd party applications required for the change management process, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Experience installing, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting SAP applications and SAP HANA Databases
Experience following protocols and standards specific to SAP large-scale implementation
Experience working with SAP support on troubleshooting various issues: understanding the nature of the problem, raising OSS incidents, and providing necessary support to SAP analysts to investigate problems
Understand concepts of setting and driving functional & technical direction
Knowledge of Redwood job scheduling is highly desired
Understanding high-availability, disaster-recovery concepts, and SAP technology surrounding the following scenarios
System landscape configurations and operations: administrating Sap applications: starting/stopping SAP instances, printer management, SAP security operations, monitoring the SAP system for health and performance issues, background jobs management operations, transport management system, SAP kernel updates, SAP application upgrades, implementing SAP OSS notes, applying SAP add-ons and support packages, application tuning
Understands the ITIL framework and has leveraged the same in at least 1 prior project
High level of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
Have worked on a cross-functional team; is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics

The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company.
USD 120,000 - 190,000
Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
