Job Title: 1st Shift Railcar Repairman

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Railcar Repairman to join our team. This role involves performing both mechanical and welding tasks to repair rail cars, with a focus on safety and quality standards. The position is physically demanding and requires working in a challenging environment, but offers opportunities for skill development and training.

Responsibilities

Conduct 60% mechanical work and 40% welding work to repair rail cars.

Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks.

Coordinate and complete all railcar repairs and maintenance tasks.

Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints/schematics to perform required repairs.

Utilize basic mechanical skills and knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut, and gouge.

Notify of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure the completion of job tasks.

Follow all safety rules and comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.

Ensure FRA, AAR, and customer quality standards are met.

Complete any other duties as assigned to complete tasks.

Perform tasks supportive in nature to essential job functions, which may be altered based on circumstances.

Essential Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to weld.

Knowledge of hand tools and air tools.

Ability to stand for long periods and work in varying temperatures.

Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with mechanical or railcar work.

Ability to lift repetitively throughout the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollidaysburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
