Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Michigan City, Indiana. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to lead and manage key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting activities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliations within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation and management of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Create and review journal entries while maintaining proper documentation and controls.

Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking, reporting, and depreciation schedules.

Drive the monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.

Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Collaborate on annual audit processes, ensuring compliance and addressing audit inquiries.

Conduct financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Assist with manufacturing cost accounting to align with organizational goals.

Handle additional reconciliation and analysis projects as assigned. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, ideally within the manufacturing industry.

Proficiency in advanced Excel functions is required.

Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management.

Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.

Knowledge of fixed asset management and depreciation methods.

Familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting principles.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this position is $42/hour to $48/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
