DESCRIPTION

We are hiring Data Center Technicians-Logistics to expand networking services in the Midwest for an enterprise level Technology company. Our Infrastructure Team is responsible for delivering day-to-day logistics and inventory support for servers and network systems. The Data Center Technician-Logistics position will provide logistics and infrastructure support for enterprise computers, servers, ports, switches and more. Overall, this is a great opportunity for data center, logistics, and/or IT professionals looking to grow their IT career to an enterprise level.

DUTIES

Receive and prepare inventory for rack installments.

Label cabling and scan codes.

Partner with vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cabling.

Install, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.

Support server rack, power-up operations at multiple sites.

Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and slack Ensure safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.

Prepare stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches).

Follow specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.

Set up equipment properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).

Perform post-execution quality checks and verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.

Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures.

Quickly identify the cause(s) of issues, and replace faulty components.

Decommission hardware for simple changes and refresh (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.

Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.

ADDITIONAL

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.

Previous data center, cabling, IT, electrical, wiring, mechanical, or engineering experience a plus.

1st Shift: 6am-6pm

3rd Shift: 6pm-6am

Frontside Schedule Sunday-Wednesday

Backside Schedule Wednesday-Saturday

Rotating Wednesdays

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and participate in group lifts

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
