Import Coordinator

Job Description

The Import Operations Customer Service Representative role is ideal for an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. This person will multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment while providing best-in-class customer service. Responsibilities

Work with Importers and U.S. Customs to prepare, transmit, clear, examine, and deliver international cargo arriving into the U.S.

Coordinate with airlines, steamship lines, and truck lines to facilitate shipment movement into the U.S.

Collaborate with Participating Government Agencies such as FDA, FCC, DOT, F&W, EPA, etc., to clear cargo arriving into the U.S.

Ensure adherence to customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), agency regulations, and company standards.

Enter, upload, or compile shipment importation and commercial invoice data into in-house software for transmission to U.S. Customs.

Conduct preliminary Entry Summary auditing.

Partner with clients on U.S. Customs entry requirements.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Proficient in using the Internet.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in Cargowise (CW1) software is a plus.

Experience in clearance of air, ocean, truck, and rail cargo through U.S. Customs.

This position is based in an office environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.44/hr.
