Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to perform and support mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and fabrication work. You will coordinate and execute general repairs and preventive maintenance on processing equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance on equipment.

Connect and/or disconnect motors.

Operate test instruments and tools such as drill presses, saws, and grinders.

Conduct basic stick and torch welding.

Conduct preventive maintenance on production equipment.

Oversee activities of hourly Mechanics and Maintenance Helpers.

Maintain compliance with safety standards for equipment.

Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.

Maintain compliance with plant rules and regulations.

Install new equipment as required.

Essential Skills

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Good overall knowledge of processing operations.

Very good mechanical and/or electrical skills.

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good planning and organization skills.

Schedule: The role involves a weekend shift schedule: Friday 11-7, Saturday 7-7, Sunday 7-7, with flexible work days on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7-3. Initial training will be Monday to Friday 7-3 for two weeks before transitioning to the weekend shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilson, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
