Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance to prevent equipment breakdowns. The role involves investigating breakdowns, collaborating with departments, and ensuring mechanical help is available quickly during line stoppages.

Responsibilities

Complete preventive and proactive maintenance per the schedule to prevent breakdowns.

Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdowns and line stoppages.

Respond promptly to line stoppages and ensure appropriate mechanical help is on site.

Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment.

Complete all required paperwork and documentation in the CMMS.

Repair or maintain industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.

Observe and test machinery operation to diagnose malfunctions using testing devices.

Operate newly repaired machinery to verify repair adequacy.

Analyze test results and error messages to diagnose equipment problems.

Inspect operating machines for compliance with safety and operational standards.

Support the facility's food safety and food quality programs.

Essential Skills

Experience with conveyors, VFD, PLC troubleshooting, industrial and electrical troubleshooting.

Maintenance repair, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical skills.

Food and beverage industry experience required.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Ability to work flexible hours and mandatory overtime every other weekend.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred experience with bearings, conveyors, wiring motors (3 phase, 480 volts).

Experience with PMs, rebuilds, and Allen-Bradley PLCs.

Possession of personal tools required.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Work Environment

Work in a facility equipped with bottling, filling, labeling, carton making machines, and conveyors. The environment requires flexibility with shifts from 6am-3:30pm and 6:30pm-4am, including mandatory overtime every other weekend. The 223 schedule will be effective upon permanent status.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WILSON, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
