Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking an Intern in Los Angeles office to support the Marketing departments efforts for the firm's international trade practice, reporting directly to the Director of Business Development for the Regulatory practice, as well as the Senior Regulatory Advisor based in the Los Angeles office. The Regulatory practices include international trade; health care and life sciences; antitrust; telecom, media and technology; cybersecurity and data privacy, government contracts; space law and policy; and environment and natural resources.

In addition to the opportunities outlined below, the Intern will participate in targeted learning and development programs designed to offer deeper insight into life at a global law firm and sharpen practical skills for future success.

As a part of our dynamic Business Development and Marketing team, you will be given hands-on experience in driving growth and shaping strategies while supporting the firm's Los Angeles-based international trade attorneys and advisors. In this collaborative and innovative work environment, you will work alongside experienced professionals while simultaneously gaining the necessary skills and proficiency needed to advance your career.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

Assist with updating attorney biographies both externally and internally

Prepare connectivity reports identifying internal and external relationships

Assist with the distribution of external content including client alerts, blog posts, invitations, etc.

Engage in graphic design work and formatting PowerPoint presentations

Support certain firm events; helping RSVPs and contact lists

Assist with updating matter databases

Coordinate attendees for firm-sponsored charitable and industry events

Collaborate with colleagues across different departments and offices to provide the highest level of service to each task

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

High school diploma or equivalent

Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, accredited university or college

Interest and experience in Marketing/Business Development

Proficiency Windows operating systems and in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with all levels of personnel and work collaboratively across all firm departments

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to shifting priorities in a timely manner

Willingness and ability to assume new tasks and responsibilities

Ability to work well under pressure, motivate self, facilitate creative solutions, and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client, firm and personnel information, and adhering to the Firm's Core Values

The hourly rate range for this position in Los Angeles is $20.00 to $23.00/hr.
