Responsibilities You will serve as a COMSEC ALTERNATE in the EKMS Division (N00SM4), Security Office- Security Manager (N00SM), at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic. You will provide command and local users Communications Security (COMSEC) account administration, technical guidance and assistance regarding COMSEC matters. You will provide specific guidance for Secure Telephone Equipment (STE) and related COMSEC issues. You will provide training to personnel handling COMSEC material to ensure they are familiar with and adhere to all COMSEC procedures. You will investigate and report suspected physical compromise, loss and unauthorized destruction of COMSEC material/equipment to determine problem areas impacting national security interests. You will develop and maintain current Emergency Action Plan Standard Operating Procedures for the protection, removal or possible destruction of classified COMSEC material and equipment during emergency situations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience performing audits, inspections, conducting interviews, and analyzing/evaluating information obtained to complete various reports. -Experience troubleshooting COMSEC equipment for compromised information and tampering of internal components. -Experience utilizing pertinent COMSEC policies and procedures for the inventory, destruction, and distribution of cryptographic equipment, components, and modifications to ensure complete systems are received. -Experience applying various COMSEC policies and procedures to interpret and apply security policies to COMSEC Cryptographic Material systems and to the proper handling of classified material and equipment.
