Job Description
SUMMARY:
As a key member of the MG-NA finance team, the Sr. Finance Manager FP&A & Operations is responsible for providing management with analysis and information needed to make operational, financial, and strategic decisions. The work of this role is critical in driving long-term value creation for the business. Reporting to the MGNA Finance Director, FP&A & Operations, this role will have 3+ direct reports. The day-to-day activities will range from managing and prioritizing the tasks of the team, to coordinating all forecasting processes (including Rolling Forecasts, Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In your role as Finance Manager, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:
Forecasting & Planning: Drive the MG-NA business's financial planning cycles, including coordination and execution of the monthly rolling forecast, quarterly forecast, annual plan, and strategic plan.
Performance Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of business performance reports and diagnostics.
Month-End Close Management: Oversee the complete month-end close cycle, which encompasses managing HFM, coordinating the Flash process,completion of all required financial exhibits and preparation of the monthly business review presentation.
Divisional Operations Reporting: Coordinate the completion of Operations reporting to deliver insights into enterprise MOE (Manufacturing Overhead Expenses) and Losses performance.
Business Partnership: provide proactive financial and analytical leadership to the LGM-NA management team, in activities such as short-term, mid-term, and long-term growth opportunity assessment, scenario planning profitability analysis, as well as ad-hoc analysis that generates clear and actionable insight. Serve as a key business partner to the broader MG-NA team, including functional SG&A management oversight, and Free Cash Flow forecasting.
Working Capital Efficiency: Drive improvements in Working Capital performance by developing processes to generate actionable insights for A/R, A/P, and other working capital components. Establish an accurate forecasting process and identify critical levers for optimization.
Process Improvement/Standardization: Drive continuous improvements across all processes using Lean Sigma, AI or other automation. Identify and leverage best practices to reduce risk. Establish a system for evaluating process improvement opportunities. Work with appropriate functional leadership teams to allocate resources and eliminate issues that threaten project success.
People Management and Development: help recruit, develop, and retain a talented pool of employees, creating a solid succession pipeline. Establish performance objectives for the team and manage job performance.
SG&A and Operations Administration Expense Oversight: Manage all aspects of SG&A and Ops Admin cost centers. This includes accurate monthly accounting and reporting, developing precise forecasts, and collaborating with cost center owners to proactively identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Controllership/Compliance: support activities related to MG-NA compliance initiatives and policies (SOX, Trade Compliance, External & Internal Audit, etc). Identify compliance gaps and coordinate resolution activities with compliance teams. Ensure all required deadlines are met and respond quickly to all follow-up questions. Provide meaningful analysis to explain variances and other audit requirements as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
5-10 years of financial and/or accounting experience, with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience managing and developing talent preferred
Oracle/Oracle BI and consolidated financial system(s) experience preferred
Superior communication skills and ability to articulate business results & opportunities
Attention to detail (excellent analytic skill)
Fundamental intellectual curiosity and ability to anticipate the next question
Proven ability to collaborate across divisions and functions
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize/re-prioritize workload (individually and for team/direct reports) to meet deadlines in dynamic business conditions
Desire to learn continuously and take initiative to act on data/intuition; provide proactive insights that drive action and execution, leading to results
Proven ability to develop complex financial/profitability models to drive decision making and provide meaningful insights to leadership
Experience supporting functional leadership (Operations, Sales, and/or Marketing) required
Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis - either at a Corporate, Divisional or Site level, including leading an annual operating plan preferred

Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $136,000- $181,000/ year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
