Responsibilities Ensures financial security and compliance by developing and implementing robust security processes designed to safeguard sensitive financial data. Ensures strict compliance with the Federal Information Systems Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) requirements to mitigate risks of fraud and unauthorized access. Manages projects related to the enhancement of financial system modules and business processes. Conducts functional testing and analysis of new or modified system functionalities to ensure they meet the needs of the financial user community and comply with accounting principles and standards. Serves as the primary functional point of contact for financial statement and system audits. Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements. Substitution of combination of education and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally satisfy the DHA qualification requirement. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service (GS-11), which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Performing data analysis and evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the continuity of a financial system's operations; performing systems analysis and developing test plans to test financial systems software; researching and diagnosing issues reported by system users. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional Information In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months.
