Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Description

Under the supervision of the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator will help increase the visibility of the organization and its programs by executing creating content for social media, email newsletter, and web.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Social Media

Create, write, and publish engaging content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook

Draft captions, write stories, and ensure content aligns with brand voice and messaging.

Use tools such as Hootsuite (or similar) to schedule content and track performance.

Digital Communications

Draft email newsletters and digital communications for donors, volunteers, and general audiences.

Assist with messaging for campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and special events.

Ensure all written content demonstrates strong grammar, tone sensitivity, and attention to detail.

Website & Publications

Create and update content on the organization's website.

Write stories that highlight community impact and organizational achievements.

Design & Visual Content

Create graphics and visual assets for social media, newsletters, event promotions, and website needs.

Use Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to produce quick-turn designs.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in communications and/or marketing.

Strong writing skills with excellent spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.

Social media content creation and management experience (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).

Ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and work efficiently.

Experience creating content within established brand guidelines.

Graphic design skills for social posts, flyers, and basic digital collateral.

Experience working at a non-profit
