Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Test Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX.

This role will be responsible for supporting design testing, lab setup, and design validation for a wide range of energy storage power conversion and UPS products. This position will also be responsible for executing and creating test plans for the commissioning and engineering testing of energy transition products in the engineering lab along with contributing to the overall safety and functioning of engineering labs at Eaton Raleigh.
Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, surge protection devices (SPD), batteries, Power distribution, monitoring/metering equipment and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $149,000 a year.

What you'll do:
Participate in global test and design reviews
Analyze test data for determination of validity and product compliance to specifications
Implement, test, and troubleshoot high level controls and system interactions
Perform tests on power converters above 100kW and system level controllers
Define safety procedures and requirements in test cell, as instituted by Eaton EHS and local representatives
Develop project test plans; prepare test facilities & required instrumentation
Coordinate technician resources in support of project test plan
Prepare test data materials for submittal to safety agencies
Formally document product design issues & specification non-conformances along with subsequent corrective action taken; provide feedback to project teams on test activities, open issues, and project schedule
Organize test data and prepare test reports.
Support and perform minimum viable product testing and demonstrations in the lab or at customer sites
Collaborate with cross functional teams within US and in EMEA and APAC
Support proto@type build, testing and delivery of products to the customer
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of six (6) years' electrical engineering work experience
Minimum three (3) months experience working with high power testing, above 10KW
Willingness to work in a high-power lab test environment at minimum 480Vac
Minimum three (3) years working with electronics measuring systems and applications such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and variacs/autotransformers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in testing electrical systems above 100kW.
Experience with power electronics lab and hands on with high power equipment at 480Vac.
Experience with 1500Vdc power equipment.
Experience with Altium or other schematic capture and PCB layout
Experience with writing quality control or safety processes

Working well with a cross functional team
Excellent communications skills. Must have good written and oral communications skills and be proficient in preparation of formal test procedures and reports
Ability to demonstrate process management and figure out processes necessary to get things done
Ability to evaluate safety and risks associated with electrical products and electrical hazards
Flexibility to work varying hours of time depending on duration of test
