POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Account Manager (GAM) serves as the strategic business leader for one or more of the company's highest value global customers. This role carries full ownership of company objectives across sales, operations, quality, and engineering , ensuring seamless execution from opportunity creation through production and lifecycle support.
The GAM is responsible for driving profitable growth, building long term partnerships, influencing product and technology roadmaps, and orchestrating cross-functional global teams to deliver exceptional customer experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Account Leadership & Strategy
Own and execute the global account strategy, including revenue growth, margin improvement, and long-term business planning.
Develop a deep understanding of the customer's business model, technology roadmap, operational needs, and global supply chain structure.
Serve as the customer's primary executive level point of contact and relationship owner.
Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategy, commercial terms, and long-term agreements.
Cross Functional Leadership:
Lead a global, matrixed account team including sales, engineering, supply chain, program management, and quality personnel. Maintain alignment among regional teams supporting manufacturing, logistics, and customer sites. Drive internal accountability for delivering world class customer experience.
Operational Execution:
Drive operational excellence with the support of your team.
Continuously evaluate and navigate supply chain risks, capacity constraints, logistics challenges, and geopolitical impacts.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency for both the company and the customer.
Quality Leadership:
Partner with quality teams to address product quality issues, corrective actions, and strategic initiatives
Engineering & Product Development
Collaborate with Business Unit marketing and engineering teams to align product capabilities with customer requirements, including custom solutions and new product introductions (NPIs).
Translate customer specifications into clear, actionable engineering requirements. Oversee technical issue resolution, product validation, and lifecycle management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Self-driven individual who can work independently from a home office
Raleigh, Denver, Dallas, or Bay Area are acceptable locations for this role
Periodic domestic and international travel is required
Evening conference calls as needed, supporting activities across time zones
QUALIFICATIONS :
Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive level presentation skills
Proven success managing large global accounts or complex OEM/ODM customer programs
Strong understanding of electrical power systems, AC/DC and DC/DC technologies
Working knowledge of product development and electronics manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to drive cross functional teams and manage global programs
Computer literacy with confidence across Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

EXPERIENCE:
10 years+ experience in power supplies, electronics, or related high-tech industry
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering or related field
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $125,000 to $180,000 per year.
