Summary This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as shift supervisor for all flight line maintenance activities, enforcing schedules, and directing work priorities over various skilled mechanics. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. DUTIES: DUTY 1: Performs work planning responsibilities. The expediter is responsible for the quality, quantity and timeliness of work performance, and therefore, must plan and prioritize availability of all resources, to include personnel, equipment, materials, tools, facilities and aircraft. DUTY 2: Performs work direction responsibilities. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. DUTY 3: Performs administration responsibilities. Advises employees of performance expectations and explains new work techniques, as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8800 Aircraft Overhaul Family. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent maybe assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing.
