POSITION OVERVIEW
John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY seeks a highly motivated, dynamic, entrepreneurial, and skilled Administrative Manager to partner with the Faculty Directors of the Program, the Associate Provost for Research, the John Jay Career Learning Lab, and the VP for Institutional Advancement to direct and advance the College's Moelis Social Entrepreneurship (MSE) Program, and support the integration of social entrepreneurship principles throughout the College. This groundbreaking program extends John Jay's mission to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to pursue meaningful, rewarding careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Reporting to the Director of the Moelis Fellowship Program, the Administrative Manager will be responsible for the administrative unit as well as all of the duties enumerated in the CUNY Title Overview as outlined above. Further additional responsibilities are as follows:
Manage the MSE Program including but not limited to all work streams related to curriculum, partnerships, marketing, administration, program impact reporting, event planning, budget management and financial reporting.
Create and implement a comprehensive programmatic strategy that will expand the program's internship offerings; identify, engage, and build relationships with external industry partners; secure experiential opportunities with a focus on corporate/for-profit businesses engaged in social impact; track students into internships; and monitor their progress and performance
Work with the College's Career Learning Lab to integrate social entrepreneurship throughout the College by forging relationships with administrative leaders, faculty, and staff and support the Career Learning Lab in placing MSE students in relevant internships and advancing related efforts to secure MSE student internship opportunities.
Lead, organize, and implement the development of an alliance comprised of industry leaders, faculty, and MSE graduates that will serve as thought partners, help build relationships in the social entrepreneurship field, and collectively provide support and empowerment to MSE students.
Work collaboratively with the Faculty Curriculum Leader on tasks including but not limited to advertising and distributing announcements for scheduled classes, coordinating with instructors, and organizing events, activities, workshops etc.
Work collaboratively with the Faculty Fellowship Leader on tasks including but not limited to recruiting students, tracking them from the minor into the fellowship, organizing events, activities, and workshops.
Work with the project leads to conduct strategic planning, maintain the project website and communication channels, and identify external academic and programmatic partners relevant to the program.
Support the College's Office of Institutional Advancement in exploring additional funding mechanisms for the initiative.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required in program development and administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required.
Master's or doctoral degree preferred, MPA or MBA strongly preferred.
Knowledge of current trends in social innovation and entrepreneurship.
Experience working with students, especially in an internship or career placement program.
Experience working on large projects with private sector stakeholders and with program evaluation.
Ability to multitask in @context of multiple timelines and budgets.
