About IPSD & LPSD :
Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) and Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs, tests and manufactures Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:
A fantastic opportunity is available for a Product Marketing Specialist to join our global Sales, Marketing, Servicing & Parts (SMSP) Product Marketing team.
The Product Marketing Team sits at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success. As a Product Marketing Specialist, you will support the development of requirements of 3rd Party customers, contribute to long term product road maps, and ensure new product development and product improvement programs deliver on critical customer requirements.
You will assist in developing and defending market studies and business cases for product strategy and development projects to drive growth in new and existing segments and markets. You will then follow this through the Caterpillar New Product Introduction (NPI) process and work on a team accountable for the launch to the market, communicating the vision and value of the products through sales tools, value messaging, and marketing tactics. In this role you will also support the development of our future product strategies including, electrification, hybrids, hydrogen technologies, low carbon fuels, and future emissions technologies.
What You Will Do:
Educate and effectively communicate technical product features and capabilities to internal and external partners
Ensure all product marketing materials are updated and accurate (spec sheets, product pages, virtual tours, product visuals, etc.)
Support product marketing launch activities - coordination, authoring, reviews, approval, and timelines for all product launches and annual product updates.
Develop and execute?the product?Go to Market (GTM) plans, pulling on wider marketing teams to ensure a successful product launch to the market.???
Enable effective selling?by building and communicating?compelling customer value propositions?that are understood both internally and externally.?
Participate in?developing multi-year product plans, provide competitive analysis to support business planning by leveraging data from a variety of sources.
Be the?customer champion?throughout the NPI process and beyond to?ensure delivery?of the agreed?customer requirements.
Collaborate with the Insights team to monitor product adoption and pricing trends in the market, leveraging tools such as Salesforce and pipeline analytics to assess ramp-up performance and drive strategic decisions.
What You Will Have:
Customer Focus : Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions - B2B (Business to Business) Marketing.? ?Engagement with NPI processes, and/or Six Sigma or other project management framework experience.
Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations including but not limited to data gather and analysis tools, techniques and processes.
Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.?
Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers and drive action through the organization.?
Value Selling : Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.?
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Self-starter with strong technical and presentation skills?
Previous customer-facing experience or sales experience would be beneficial?
Knowledge of Go-to-Market (GTM) processes and marketing communications
Ability to drive actions through the organization
Ability to coach and train others?
Project Management experience?
Additional Information :
Location: Mossville, IL. Office-based in Mossville 5 days per week.
Travel requirements - approximately 10% annually.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
