POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of Western Timber Regional Manager the Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting and cultivating new accounts as well as maintaining and growing existing accounts for assigned product categories within their assigned territory. This position functions primarily as an inside sales role, operating from the Weiser, ID office approximately 80% of the time. This position drives revenue growth through proactive outbound calling, inbound lead response, digital communication, order management, and consultative selling conducted via phone, email, and virtual platforms. Limited in-person customer visits and field travel (up to 20% or less) may be required to support key accounts and strategic growth initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow, cultivate, and build out new business within their category segment in the assigned territory. Responsible for delivering key sales metrics that align with the overall strategic plan. Ensure that both customers and prospects have a detailed understanding of our products through a consultative selling approach, including providing product specifications.
Proactively generate new business primarily through outbound phone calls, email campaigns, virtual meetings, and digital prospecting efforts.
Serve accounts primarily through phone, email, CRM tools, and virtual communication platforms while identifying incremental growth opportunities. Conduct in-person visits selectively to support strategic relationships.
Follow company-prescribed methods of tracking daily activities for later reporting accountability purposes. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, call logs, quotes, and follow-up activities to ensure visibility and accountability.
Develop relationships with customers and leverage these relationships to maximize revenue opportunities.
Maintain a clear view of the competitive landscape and the ability to effectively communicate Western Timber value proposition, including but not limited to, effective use of available marketing resources. Assess customers' inventory needs and offer solutions specific to assigned product categories to increase their business with OrePac Building Products. May be required to facilitate conversations with other category Account Executives.
Forecast and report incoming business activity monthly, quarterly, and as required by sales leadership. Includes completing a quarterly business review with the Regional Sales Manager.
Ensure current customer satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to problems, concerns, or needs.
Maintain a solid knowledge of digital tools to measure results and effectively manage performance of your account base.
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, supply chain, and support personnel to ensure accurate order execution, inventory alignment, and timely delivery.

Product familiarity and relevant industry experience is required.
Must be currently licensed to drive a car and must be able to comply with state auto insurance requirements and have a proven safe driving record.
Must be a team player with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
3 or more years of sales experience, preferably selling lumber.
Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position primarily operates in a professional office environment (approximately 80% of the time), with limited travel to customer sites, lumber yards, or retail warehouse environments as needed.
This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
The work environment is generally quiet but can be loud in lumber yards and retail warehouse environments.
This position requires travel throughout the assigned territory up to 20% of the time.
