Job Title: Analytical ChemistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Analytical Chemist to perform routine and specialized analytical chemical testing on a variety of samples including raw materials, in-process batches, finished goods, and more. This role supports development projects, new product evaluations, and method troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry and a commitment to maintaining high standards of laboratory practice.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine and specialized analytical chemical testing on products submitted to the lab, including analysis of raw materials, in-process batches, finished goods, bulk samples, water samples, cleaning samples, and stability samples.

Perform specialized analytical testing as directed by the Laboratory Manager for development projects, new products, method troubleshooting, and Out of Specification investigations.

Properly document all results according to Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, and review the work of other laboratory personnel as required.

Learn and practice the use of laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatography (GC), High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), UV/Visible Spectrophotometry, and FTIR.

Conduct analytical work in support of cleaning validations and engineering trials.

Compile and summarize data as required.

Perform general housekeeping and glassware cleaning.

Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, suppliers, and customers, both verbally and in writing.

Perform other assignments as requested by the Lab Manager.

Maintain and promote strong work ethics and uphold all company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in HPLC and GC techniques.

Strong foundation in analytical chemistry.

Experience with laboratory instrumentation including gas chromatography, High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography, UV/Visible Spectrophotometry, and FTIR.

Ability to document results accurately according to standard procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS Degree in Chemistry or a related Laboratory Sciences degree.

1+ years of experience in a GMP lab is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in an OTC Manufacturing Analytical Chemistry Laboratory. The working hours are Monday to Friday, on the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM. Candidates must have the flexibility to work extra hours, including some limited weekend work, as necessary to handle spikes in workload and meet deadlines. The company promotes a strong work ethic and has a history of promoting 20% of its workforce annually, with no formal layoffs. The corporate center is located in Port Washington, with four facilities in Southeast, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
