Bachelor's Degree in higher education, student affairs, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in higher education, social work, or related field.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Effectively communicate through both verbal and written communication including public speaking.
At least 1 year of experience with case management software.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in higher education, student affairs, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
Demonstrated experience adjudicating student conduct cases in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated experience with case management in a higher education setting involving student conduct, student care, or crisis intervention.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced setting that handles urgent situations concerning student well-being.
Experience analyzing data and reporting trends in writing and through data visualization.
Experience in addressing alcohol/drug abuse, threats, disruptions, disorderly conduct, and other conduct/standards violations.
Experience with conduct or case management software such as Maxient, EAB's Navigate360, or similar software systems.
Job Description
The Student Conduct Officer II serves as a front-line professional responsible for reviewing and investigating alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct and managing individual and student organization cases from intake through resolution. The role conducts administrative hearings, determines appropriate outcomes and sanctions, and ensures processes align with due process and institutional policy. The position provides conflict mediation in appropriate situations and supports institutional response through service on the Expressive Activities Team. Through consistent documentation, collaboration, and student engagement, the position supports fair, educational, and timely conduct processes that uphold community standards.
Job Duties
Case Management and Conduct Administration
Manage a caseload of individual and student organization conduct cases from initial report intake through final resolution, ensuring timely, fair, and equitable processes.
Assist with review of conduct referrals, determine appropriate case pathways, coordinate interventions, and monitor completion of assigned sanctions.
Conduct administrative hearings by evaluating information using established standards and issuing findings and sanctions consistent with university policy.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready records in the conduct management system while adhering to due process requirements and documentation protocols.
Facilitate educational conduct meetings that encourage accountability, reflection, and student learning.
Investigations, Mediation & Conflict Resolution
Perform neutral and thorough investigations into alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct, including interviewing involved parties and reviewing relevant documentation and evidence.
Provide conflict mediation for appropriate cases to support informal resolution and developmental outcomes.
Collaboration & Campus Safety Support
Collaborate and communicate regularly with campus partners-including University Police, Housing and Residential Life, Student Involvement, Title IX, Disability Services, and Academic Affairs-regarding conduct matters and campus safety.
Serve on institutional response teams, including the Expressive Activities Team, to support coordinated responses to student behavior and community concerns.
Data Management, Reporting & Departmental Support
Utilize the student conduct database system to create and maintain conduct files and support related technology or website needs.
Prepare and contribute to statistical and assessment reports, including monthly, semester, and annual conduct data summaries.
Contribute to broader Dean of Students and divisional initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned to support student success and community standards.
