Description: The Gund Company has an opening for a full-time Entry Level Utility Operator to join our team!

Shift: 2nd Shift

Hourly Wage: $20 - $24 per hour based on experience

Shift Premium: 15%

Dept: Fabrication

Job Summary Utility Operator

As a Utility Operator , you will play a key role in supporting production operations, ensuring that parts are fabricated to meet work order specifications and customer requirements. This includes operating and setting up various CNC and non-CNC production machinery, conducting manual assembly tasks, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Utility Operator

Operate production equipment such as vertical mills and other CNC equipment.
Perform manual assembly and fabrication tasks using hand tools and machines, as necessary.
Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality, quantity, and customer standards.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety protocols.
Assist with troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on production machinery as needed.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED (preferred) with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
Strong basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to emergency production needs.

Preferred:

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience with vertical mills or similar equipment.

Work Environment Utility Operator

This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
