As the Vice President of Strategic Planning for Payments Acquiring's Strategic Investments & Analytics group, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your strong business acumen and deep understanding of what drives product success, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, financial growth, and program-wide strategy, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
The Strategic Investments & Analytics group is responsible for driving an evolving suite of new platforms, products and services that process nearly $3 trillion in volume each year and power millions of businesses worldwide. The team owns the process for prioritizing and planning the delivery of enhancements and new solutions on the Payments Acquiring platform, as well as providing reporting and insights into the KPIs most relevant to its growth and performance. The Vice President of Strategic Planning will be a key leader within this group, shaping and facilitating global delivery roadmap decisions across key segments including e-Commerce, Omnichannel, Small Business, and Embedded Payments & Services. Tasked with owning a comprehensive strategic planning process, the successful candidate will be exceptionally structured in their thinking and day-to-day approach, with strong critical thinking skills and an ownership mindset. With responsibility for leading key executive leadership cadences, they will use strong executive presence, business acumen, and product strategy expertise to identify, build, and present insights that enable leaders to make effective investment decisions across competing client segments and global markets.
Responsibilities
Leverage strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to drive decision-making processes both independently and in collaboration with executive leaders
Collaborate with executive leaders to build a program delivery strategy and platform vision for Payments Acquiring's Merchant Services business that delivers value to customers
Build, implement, and own processes for building a detailed payments product investment roadmap that maximizes business success, financial returns, and achievement of KPIs
Prepare and lead executive leadership meetings focused on establishing the program's product delivery roadmap and making key prioritization and investment decisions
Build compelling PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate the business' decisions, goals and plans from a strategic roadmap perspective for the next 1-2 years
Build process documentation with detailed steps, preparation requirements, and timelines for every step of the strategic planning process
Use advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and visualizations, to manipulate and analyze data in a way that delivers the necessary strategic insights in a repeatable way
Work across multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating effective project management skills and prioritization instincts
Foster a team-oriented mindset, leading within the team and collaborating with colleagues across the business to achieve shared goals
Effectively communicate complex strategies and plans to diverse stakeholders
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
8+ years of work experience, with 5+ years in Product Strategy, Technology Strategy, Corporate Strategy, or Consulting
Bachelor's degree required
Proven ability to lead and execute strategic planning processes, including the development of short-term and long-term roadmaps, preferably within a technology product @context
Experience with the delivery process for technology products, with a focus on aligning product strategy with business objectives in the payments domain
Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills, with the ability to design, build and deliver compelling presentations that effectively communicate complex business strategies to executive leaders
Advanced proficiency in data analysis, using tools such as Excel to extract insights and inform strategic decision-making processes
Demonstrated ability to engage and lead discussions with senior-level stakeholders
Strong attention to detail in designing and implementing processes, ensuring thorough documentation of each step
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering cooperation and being willing to take on whatever work is needed for success of the team and broader organization
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet ambitious strategic goals.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Success within a consulting firm or internal strategy team, with a demonstrated understanding of industry best practices and innovative strategy methodologies
Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
Experience or understanding of technology product delivery and/or the payments acquiring industry is highly preferred
MBA or graduate degree in a related field preferred
