Job Summary:
This position is open to qualified applicants for either the Admission Representative or Assistant Director of Admission role, depending on the candidate's qualifications. Specific responsibilities and duties are outlined below for each role.
Position Purpose / Summary- The purpose of the Admission Representative/Assistant Director of Admission's work is to enroll a targeted number of new, first-year students from designated geographic areas. The Admission Representative will pursue this purpose by identifying, informing, engaging, and persuading a qualified pool of prospective students to enroll at Concordia College. Those successful in this role are resilient, highly self-motivated, organized, and dynamic individuals with exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. They will adeptly represent Concordia College, the admissions team and our campus community to prospective students, their families, and the broader community, with professionalism and enthusiasm.
The Admission Representative/Assistant Director of Admission will oversee recruitment in a specifically assigned recruitment territory. Territory management work will include activities such as high school visits, college fairs, financial aid nights and various College recruitment events and managing effective and consistent outreach to their pool of students. This position will also work to build new bridges in their territory with different groups such as Concordia alumni, church congregations, and community-based organizations. Seeking to build relationships with prospective students and their families, Admission Representatives/Assistant Directors of Admission are expected to think and work creatively within their assigned territory and make independent decisions about how to reach prospective students in the most effective manner.
Performance Expectations- The primary work of the Admission Representative/Assistant Director of Admission is to proactively contact qualified prospective students, parents, and influencers in order to increase Concordia's visibility, reputation, and understanding of affordability in the assigned recruitment territory. The purpose of this proactive outreach is to fulfill annual new student enrollment goals in specific geographic markets. This proactive outreach to prospective students is the daily work of the Admission Representative/Assistant Director of Admission; assisting students and their families through the enrollment process from application through enrollment.
Admission Representative/Assistant Director of Admission performance will be evaluated regularly based on recruitment efforts and the results of this effort. Representatives will regularly reach out to qualified prospective students, parents, and influencers via email, telephone, text messages, handwritten communications, and in-person and virtual meetings.
Weekly Work Schedules- The role involves a dynamic weekly schedule, with varying hours, particularly during travel season. During this time, you will attend college fairs and recruitment events, which typically take place during the day and occasionally in the evening. As a result, work hours may extend beyond the standard 8am-5pm Monday-Friday schedule. Flexible scheduling, as well as overtime for non-exempt staff, will be available to manage work-life balance and event preparation. Effective time management is essential, as the role includes proactive student outreach that adjusts weekly based on the travel schedule and recruitment events. These events may include college fairs, student meetings, and on-campus recruitment activities.
Assistant Director of Admission - Additional Responsibilities
Project Management/Liaison Work- It is understood that an Assistant Director of Admission will be responsible for at least two major events, projects, or liaison duties in addition to general recruitment work. Examples may include, but are not limited to:
Liaison with Mission & Inclusion Office, Athletic Department, Center for Student Success, Registrar's Office, etc.
Liaison with Faculty/Academic Programs
Coordinator of key enrollment events, scholarship programs, etc.
Management of select office projects and information systems (travel management, inventory of print materials, oversight of student workers, social media, etc.)
Collaborate with Director of Admission on staff training program
Job Duties:

Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.
Pursue enrollment goals and manage individual recruitment territory - 90% / 70%
Responsible for realizing annual enrollment goals in assigned territory. Work will include development and self-scheduling of student contact, travel, and recruitment project management.
Connect with prospective students all throughout the year. Prospects include inquiries, applicants, admits, and deposits.
Build relationships with important contacts at key high schools and local communities in assigned recruitment territory.
Outreach to school counseling offices, teachers, and high school career advisors.
Outreach to high school athletic coaches and directors of music and fine arts programs.
Outreach to ELCA church congregations and leadership.
Outreach to Concordia alumni for student recruitment and re-establishing meaningful connections with the College.
Organization and execution of recruitment events bringing Concordia alumni or current Concordia students/staff and prospective students together for the purposes of enrollment.
Recruitment on campus - 10% / 10%
Participate in ongoing recruitment activities on campus. This may include extended time on campus participating in training activities and relationship development with faculty, coaches, fine arts and ensemble directors, student life and administrative staff.
Participate in on-campus visit programming including preview days, Saturday Visit Days, yield events Minnesota Private College Week, and Scholarship Days.
Visit with families when they attend a daily campus visit. Provide a memorable and informative experience that exceeds expectations.
Project Management/Liaison Work - 0% / 15%
Coordinate or manage an additional programs or projects, as determined by the Director of Admission.
Work with on-campus partners to direct efforts of marketing, event planning and coordination, outreach to students, scheduling, and execution of the program as needed.
Work directly with faculty and staff from the determined program/project to ensure effective and timely communication between admissions, the department, and prospective students.
Ensure admissions team members are educated regarding the details of the project/program.
Mentor Admissions Representatives - 0% / 5%
Work with Director of Admission to plan new and ongoing training for Admission Representatives. Assist with onboarding of new Admission Representatives and evaluate training needs throughout the recruiting cycle.
Guide admission representatives in refining their skills, addressing challenges, and achieving recruitment goals, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and engagement within the admissions team. Offer ongoing coaching and constructive feedback, recruitment strategy, and assist in fostering a collaborative team environment.
