SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Airport Director for our company plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations and strategic management of airport services, ensuring efficient and effective functioning. This position involves directing various departments, such as ground handling, customer service, and maintenance, to meet the operational needs of airlines and passengers. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, maintaining high safety standards, and fostering positive relationships with airline clients and regulatory bodies. Additionally, this role requires the development and implementation of business strategies, budget management, and leading initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all airport operations and ensure compliance with aviation regulations and standards
Develop and implement strategic plans for airport development and service improvement
Manage airport budgets and financial planning, including revenue generation and cost control
Lead negotiations with airlines, regulatory bodies, and government agencies
Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth airport operations
Enhance passenger experience through service quality improvements and facility upgrades
Monitor and address security and safety concerns at the airport
Foster relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, business partners, and airlines
Implement sustainable practices in airport operations and development
Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance management
Analyze and report on airport operational metrics and performance indicators
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in airport management
Employing problem solving abilities for issue resolution
Respond effectively to emergencies and crisis situations at the airport
Demonstrating knowledge of the industry
Drive innovation in airport services and technology adoption
Working under pressure to meet internal and external targets or deadlines
Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss performance, objectives, and ongoing projects
Assist in training new staff
Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for team members.
Represent the company in public forums, media interactions, and industry events
Vast experience in customer service
Possessing strong interpersonal skills for relationship building
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Eligible to work in the United States
Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5 Years of Management or Supervisory experience
Knowledge of the Aviation Industry
Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
Pass a background check and drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
