The Team & Role
Copeland's Information Technology teams design, build, and protect the systems that support our products, manufacturing operations, and enterprise decision-making worldwide. This internship offers hands-on experience across multiple technology domains, including Data Engineering, AI Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Shop Floor / Engineering Lab Applications .
As an Information Technology Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers on real, active projects that support Copeland's global business. Depending on project alignment and business need, interns may contribute to cloud-based data pipelines and analytics platforms, support enterprise AI and machine learning solutions, assist with cybersecurity and vulnerability management initiatives across IT and OT environments, or develop and enhance internally built applications used in manufacturing operations and engineering labs.
Interns collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, analytics, data science, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, develop technical solutions, and support the full technology lifecycle.
This role is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience with enterprise-scale systems who are eager to apply technical skills in real-world environments and contribute to technology solutions that drive business and operational impact.
Potential Internship Roles:
Cybersecurity - Participate in hands-on projects and gain experience identifying, analyzing, and tracking security vulnerabilities across client-server environments and web applications. The intern will collaborate with security engineers, application owners, and IT teams to strengthen Copeland's security posture.
Data Engineering - Interns will gain experience building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and enterprise data workflows. The intern will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to improve data quality, enhance data accessibility, and strengthen Copeland's overall data infrastructure.
AI Engineering - Support active enterprise analytics initiatives that are currently used by analytics teams and business stakeholders across the organization. Gain experience collaborating with technical teams to design, test, and optimize AI-driven solutions that enhance automation, insights, and decision-making across the organization.
Shop Floor/Lab Development - Through hands-on project work, the intern will help implement new functionality, optimize database queries, support API updates, and document technical solutions strengthening system reliability and enabling more efficient operations. The Intern will support Copeland's internally developed manufacturing and engineering systems by contributing to the design, enhancement, and troubleshooting of application features.

Key Responsibilities & Your Day-to-Day
As an Information Technology Intern, you'll work on real projects that support Copeland's data, applications, security, and analytics systems. Depending on your assignment, you may:
Support the development, testing, and improvement of applications, data pipelines, or technology tools
Assist with data collection, validation, and basic analysis to support business and operational needs
Help investigate and document technical issues, including data or security findings
Participate in coding, testing, debugging, and documentation activities
Collaborate with engineers and analysts to translate business needs into technical work
Learn and follow best practices for development, security, and system reliability
What You Bring
Coursework or experience in areas such as programming, data analytics, cyber security, or software development
Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and tools
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Ability to communicate clearly and work well on a team
Ownership mindset and follow-through on assigned tasks
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field.
Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
Preferred Qualifications
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Exposure to programming languages (such as Python, SQL, C# or similar)
Interest in areas like data engineering, AI/ML, cybersecurity, or application development
Experience with cloud platforms or modern development tools (through coursework or projects)
Examples of hands-on learning through class projects, internships, or personal work
Anticipated Graduation of May 2027
