Business Development & Client Acquisition (Legal Vertical)
Proactively identify, prospect, and acquire new law firm banking clients, with a strong focus on attorneys who utilize Qualified Settlement Funds (QSFs), high-growth litigation practices, and top-tier trial law firms.
Promote the full Justice Banking Suite-including operating accounts, IOLTA/COLTAF accounts, reserve and treasury solutions, and specialized legal lending products.
Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies, leveraging attorney networks, bar associations, litigation finance partners, settlement planners, brokers, and existing Justice Escrow relationships.
Oversee the entire sales cycle from prospecting and needs assessment to proposal development, onboarding, and post-conversion follow-through.
Coordinate closely with Justice Banking leadership when a prospect or existing law firm utilizes both platforms, ensuring integrated presentations and unified value delivery.
Maintain an active national travel schedule to meet with firms, attend conferences, participate in industry events, and engage high-priority prospects.
Relationship Management & Portfolio Growth
Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of law firm clients, acting as a strategic advisor on banking structure, account setup, cash-flow management, and working capital needs.
Deepen relationships with existing Justice Escrow clients by identifying additional banking needs and facilitating seamless transitions into Justice Banking.
Leverage a tiered service model to ensure appropriate touchpoints, service intensity, and proactive relationship planning.
Conduct regular relationship reviews with firm leadership to understand practice growth, case pipeline, partner expansion, staffing changes, and settlement activity that may impact banking or credit needs.
Advocate for the client internally, ensuring timely responses, execution quality, and high overall client satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Legal-Specific Solutions
Collaborate with Treasury Management to implement IOLTA/COLTAF accounts, commercial operating and money market accounts, and cash-flow tools tailored to law firm workflows.
Work closely with Credit and Underwriting to structure legal-specific credit facilities such as working capital lines tied to case cycles, partner buy-in and succession financing, firm term loans, and office expansion loans.
Partner with Justice Escrow Operations to ensure smooth referrals, consistent messaging, cross-sell coordination, and unified client experiences.
Coordinate with Loan Administration, Operations, and Compliance to ensure proper documentation, adherence to state trust-accounting rules, and accurate execution of attorney-specific requirements.
Provide input to Justice Banking leadership on product gaps, platform enhancements, and opportunities for further integration between Justice Banking and Justice Escrow.
Market Intelligence & Industry Expertise
Maintain deep knowledge of the legal industry, including personal injury, mass tort, class actions, and other specialty practice areas-understanding their cash-flow patterns, case timelines, revenue models, and partner compensation structures.
Stay informed on QSF-related regulations, trust-accounting requirements, bar rules, and state-by-state variations in IOLTA/COLTAF structures.
Monitor competitive offerings, industry trends, and litigation finance activity to identify strategic opportunities for Flatirons Bank.
Provide feedback to Justice Banking and Justice Escrow leadership on competitor positioning, client needs, product gaps and emerging trends noted during client engagement.
