Position Summary
The Learning and Development Business Partner (LDBP) will ensure effective and consistent delivery of Learning and Development programs across the organization. The LDBP will be responsible for working with various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess, design, develop, deliver, manage, and enhance selected programs. Training content will be focused in the following areas: basic management skills, construction management, mechanical engineering, desktop software, iOS device usage, sales, presentation, train the trainer, and leadership training. The LDBP will need to be capable of engaging learners in a classroom, online, or through the materials they create.
Position Details
Partner with L&D Director to develop and present training programs to meet the organizations' needs.
Develop internal network of SMEs to effectively and efficiently develop and deliver technical and non-technical training content across the organization.
Build strong relationships with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and business stakeholders.
Establish credibility with all audiences: field, operations, engineering, divisional administration, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Coach, mentor, and work with SMEs to develop best in class training programs by utilizing L&D skill sets noted below:
Instructional Design:
Collaborate and conduct needs assessments to develop course objectives.
Recommend and design curriculum, programs, or learning solutions in the appropriate format (classroom, webinar, e-learning, self-guided, blended, etc.) and in alignment with course objectives and learner needs.
Develop post-training support structure to further drive the effectiveness of the training event.
Training Delivery:
Deliver train-the-trainer programs (for general training and specific modules).
Work with SMEs and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to prepare for training programs including event planning and organization.
Facilitate learning, encourage participation, and motivate learners.
Evaluate courses and make changes based on feedback.
Learning Technology:
Use LMS to setup, track and report on training events and sessions.
Partner with e-learning developer to design and develop online courses.
Design, develop, and deliver learning events using standard industry tools and methods.
Training Operations Support:
Maintain all training curriculums and provide recommendations based on business needs.
Provide training logistics and event management support where applicable.
Initiate and participate in communications with other relevant training functions (HR, safety, mechanical, BIM, etc.) as well as Operations to ensure synergy of the training processes, scheduling, and goal alignment.
Establish key measures for success across learning programs and deliver reports on effectiveness as needed. .
How you'll do it:
Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts in construction and engineering to extract and translate technical information into learner-friendly content.
Project Management: Manage instructional design projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
Significant experience in instructional design, classroom training, e-learning, developing training content, and delivering material
Highly effective coaching and mentoring skills for developing SMEs to be effective trainers.
Strong drive and a passion for development of people and the business.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Strong project management experience and ability to prioritize activities.
Ability to effectively perform in a fast pace, flexible and dynamic, entrepreneurial, and deadline-oriented work environment.
Must be a strong hands-on and individual contributor that wants to have an impact with own initiative and not depend on a supporting staff to do so.
Highly engaging and collaborative style in working cross-functionally.
Solutions-oriented with the ability to develop innovative, unique approaches to learning
Ability to encourage participation and motivate learners.
Strong technical aptitude or experience to work with an LMS (Greenlight), online development tools, instructional technologies (e.g., e-learning), iOS, and MS Office.
Experience with designing and developing blended learning approaches desired.
Awareness and understanding of lean thinking are beneficial.
Ability to travel up to 30%-40%, as required
BA/BS degree required (Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field preferred).
5+ years of progressive experience in designing, developing and facilitating development experiences for a business audience. Construction, Engineering or similar industry experience preferred
